Dear Sir or Madam,
All a bit of a final minute notice but last Friday my father passed away and many years ago he used to work as a sound specialist and projectionist. Amongst my collection of photographs, I found one where Roger Moore and my father had met very briefly. It would be nice if I could forward a powerpoint presentation of the funeral which is to be held this Saturday in Bedfordshire. I am not sure if Roger would remember the moment but having the privilege of at least having Sir Roger Moore, receiving a copy will touch my father up in heaven for sure. He was a very big fan back then and even until his last moments of Roger. He always thought of him as a James Bond, and actually changed his name to James perhaps because of his interest in 007.
Kind regards, Hari Trivedi, hari.trivedi@ntlworld.com

I was devastated to hear today that Sir Roger Moore had passed away. I loved him as the saint of which l view regular. I felt l had lost a friend as he has featured so much via the small screen in my life as a youngster and then he became Bond. My thoughts will be with his family he leaves with us a legacy of television greats as well as cinema greats. He was one star whom was not affected by his stardom. Comment has always been made of his acting abilities but watch The Man who Haunted himself , he could act! But under estimated himself he will be surely missed for many years to come a truly lovely man.
I grew up watching the bond films and Roger Moore was the best James bond ever! He had everything: the looks- according to my mother who adored him- acting skills and I loved his energy in all of them. Those films will always have a special place in my heart. My family are very saddened. Rest in peace sir roger. A real English gentlemen if ever there was one.
Thank you Sir Roger Moore for teaching me your polished sense of humour and giving me several moments of great amusement in my life.
Rest in peace.
An old fan from Italy
Dear Roger…met u on the film set of Octopussy…chased on railway line as a Russian soldier..thank heaven my Ak-47..had blanks…also bumped into u and daughter playing backgammon on the film set….a moment I will treasure..R.I.P.Roger..
I would like to express my deep sadness of hearing that Sir Roger Moore had passed away with his family around him .
I used to watch The Saint in the early 70s on a weekend in the morning before going out as a kid and then i always thought that Sir Roger would make a Great James Bond and glad he took on the role and put a sense of fun in him and the thrill he gave us all .
As well as doing bond it made us all look at and again Rogers films and the many parts he played also with some of his many famous friends .
I Hope that if Rogers Family or friends read this i hope that there will be a church service here in the Uk for him so that his many friends can pay tribute to him in there own way as they do with many others over the years .
RIp Roger The Saints and the Sinners await you in heaven .
My Sincere love to the Moore family at this time of sadness and loss of a warm and wonderful man and a human being something the world needs today .
Sincerely
Austin Goodall
To Sir Roger Moore & the Moore Family. I’m ever so Sorry to hear that Sir Roger has passed away on Tuesday 23rd May 2017 of Prostrate Cancer. Please do accept my full condolences of the death of Sir Roger.
I very first met him at Bath Royal Theatre 5 or 7 years ago coming from Bristol one Friday evening & I thought the guy was brilliant wonderful lovely charming tongue & cheek man. I grew up in watching all the Roger Moore Films over the years from when I was James Bond , The Saint & Persuaders , the Wild Geese was a great film.
After growing up watching him on TV , I got all his Biography life story books , film documentaries of 007 James Bond from the 80’s & 90’s I can watch them all over again , now although Sir Roger Moore is gone but his legacy lives on for ever & all of his films which I will definitely keep permanently for the rest of my life , I will never ever get rid of them.
At lease I got to meet him in the flesh & now he is dead , I wish I could fly to Monaco in Switzerland to go to his Funeral to say good bye to him wish Sir Roger Moore Fear Well in Heaven. Perhaps Sir Roger Moore will meet all of his long longer lost friends in heaven such as Gregory Peck , David Niven , Martin Grace , Desmond Llewelyn , Richard Kiel , & all the Female lost dead Actresses Roger worked with as well.
Good bye Sir Roger Moore ! it was lovely to meet you in the Flesh face to face in Bath Royal Theatre , Thanks ever so much for being in the photo’s with me & for your Autograph’s as well.
R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore you did very well for Unicef. You was a very big part in my life in Film & TV Acting.
Love you so much & I think thee world of you my good great best friend.
How many people remember Sir Roger as ‘Ivanhoe’ on British Television before the Saint and James Bond? This was a half hour series, during which he saved countless ladies in distress, dressed in a knight’s uniform and carrying a lance, on horseback. The name of his assistant escapes me at the moment, but I watched it avidly at 5.30 pm every week for months. His deeds of ‘derring-do’ were a forerunner the later bouts of fisticuffs in the Saint and the James Bond epics. Good to read of his exquisite manners – never too busy to give of his time to his fans, and sign a few autographs. No wonder he will be missed. Leslie Howlett.
My blessing for a true actor, I did have the chance to see roger moore as he was sitting at a restaurant in palm beach before 2000. Honest well groomed and a likable person, I have a sound hearing with roger,s voice thinking of words sound roger could be saying, roger moore movies I did watch entirely since a 007 no. figure was most popular interesting to reality & people, may have been involved with servicemen. God Bless.
Firstly, I’m very sorry for your loss. I have so many fond childhood memories of Sir Roger and the James Bond films in which he starred, particularly The Spy Who Loved Me and Live and Let Die. These were the highlights of Christmas and once the dinner was over we’d all settle down to watch these magical worlds in awe. I never met Sir Roger, but always felt that he was a really good guy, a kind one, and now I understand that not only did he represent Unicef, but he was against fox hunting, so I was right! I love his anecdotes, so witty and self-deprecating, but I disagree on one matter. Sir Roger made light of his acting abilities, but I think he totally underestimated his talent. Sorry not to have seen him last year in Oxford, but will spend many happy hours I’m sure reading his book and going over and over his iconic roles. My thoughts are with you all, lots of love Linda x
First, I would like to send my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Sir Roger Moore, a true British gentleman and wonderful actor. Roger will forever be the James Bond of my youth in the 1970s and 1980s. I loved Roger’s interpretation of Bond and he played the role brilliantly. ‘The spy who loved me’ is my all-time favourite Bond film and I can clearly recall going to see it for the first time at a cinema in Adelaide as the latest 007 film to hit the big screen.
I was also a big fan of The Saint and last night I watched the 1950s Elizabeth Taylor movie, ‘The last time I saw Paris’, which, interestingly for Roger Moore fans, featured a very young Roger making an appearance late in the film.
Another part of my youth passed away last week. Thankyou so much Roger for the great memories. R.I.P.
Love and best wishes, Simon.
My favourite actor ever since I watched him in Ivanhoe when I was a child I would have loved to meet him but never did sir Roger was a true gentleman and a fine actor he was the best James Bond and I loved all his films the world has lost a great man and I think the likes of him we will never see again in our lifetime.
God bless sir Roger and his family
Most sincerely
Jeff
