Sir Roger Moore and John Malkovich will be again in Dubrovnik, Croatia performing on Julian Rachlin & Friends Festival.
11th Festival of Chamber Music Julian Rachlin & Friends will once again host world-renowned musicians and performers of chamber music. It will be held in Dubrovnik from 27th August to 8th September.
Festival will be opened by performance of Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, which will be conducted by one of the most famous conductors, maestro Zubin Mehta. Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will, together with Julian Rachlin, perform Violin Concerto by Johannes Brahms, and Brahms Second Symphony. Besides Julian Rachlin, founder and artistic director of the festival, these are other participants of the festival program: Mischa Maisky, Yefim Bronfman, Janine Jansen, Itamar Golan, Martin Grubinger, Florian Boesch, the Orchestra Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and many other artists, as well as world movie stars, Sir Roger Moore and John Malkovich. Malkovich will, in the wake of his successful performance last year, perform humorous and educational program called “Music critic” and Roger Moore will close the festival with musical spoof directed by renowned pianist Hyung-ki Joo. Organisers have also announced a gala charity football match under the auspices of UNICEF, that will take place on 4th September. On this occasion participants of the festival will also play, led by Julian Rachlin and the media representatives, also famous Croatian and world athletes, such as UNICEF’s ambassador to Croatia, Slaven Bilic, Robert Prosinecki and many others.
